Pakistani Mango Varieties Guide: Complete 2026 Season Calendar

By MMA Farms·

Pakistan produces over 1.8 million tonnes of mangoes every year, making it the world's fifth-largest mango producer. But what makes Pakistani mangoes truly special isn't the quantity — it's the extraordinary diversity of varieties, each with its own distinct personality, flavor profile, and season window.

The Pakistani Mango Season at a Glance

The mango season in Pakistan runs from mid-June through September, roughly 14 weeks of pure bliss. Each variety arrives at a specific time, creating a natural progression from tangy-sweet early varieties to the richest, most intense late-season treasures.

June: The Season Opens

Langra (Mid-June)

Langra is always first to arrive, typically around June 15th. This variety is instantly recognizable because it stays green even when fully ripe — don't wait for it to turn yellow! The flavor is a unique tangy-sweet combination with citrus undertones that no other variety can match. Langra's flesh is smooth with very low fiber, and the aroma is strong and aromatic. Weight: 250-350g per fruit. Best for eating fresh, mango lassi, and mango chutney.

Sindhri (Late June)

Named after the town of Sindhri in Sindh province, this is widely considered the sweetest mango in all of Pakistan. Sindhri mangoes are large (350-500g), golden yellow when ripe, and have virtually no fiber — the flesh melts on your tongue like butter. The sweetness is intense with honey-like notes and absolutely no sourness. Sindhri is Pakistan's premier export variety and a favorite for gift boxes.

Anwar Ratol (Late June)

The connoisseur's mango. What Anwar Ratol lacks in size (150-250g), it more than compensates with the most intense, complex flavor and the most intoxicating aroma of any mango variety. When you open a box of Anwar Ratol, the entire room fills with fragrance. The flesh is ultra-creamy and fiberless. Demand consistently exceeds supply, making this one of the most expensive varieties.

July: Peak Season

White Chaunsa Mosami (Early July)

Multan's most famous contribution to the mango world arrives in July. White Chaunsa Mosami has a delicate, refined sweetness with floral notes and a silky, custard-like texture. The flesh is pale golden, and the aroma is elegant and sweet. This is the mango that earned Multan the title "City of Mangoes."

12 Number Ratol (Late July)

Think of this as the premium, larger cousin of Anwar Ratol. The "12 Number" designation refers to its top-tier grading — selected for superior size (250-350g), intense flavor, and exceptional quality. If you love Anwar Ratol but wish each fruit were bigger, this is your mango.

August–September: The Grand Finale

White Chaunsa Nawab Puri (August–September)

The last and arguably the greatest mango of the season. Nawab Puri arrives when the Pakistani summer heat has concentrated sugars to their absolute maximum. The result is the richest, most intense sweetness of any Chaunsa — almost caramel-like in its depth. The flesh is dense, thick, and incredibly creamy. Many consider this the single finest mango variety in the world. When Nawab Puri arrives, mango lovers know this is their last chance until next year.

How to Choose the Right Variety

  • **If you love sweet**: Sindhri (10/10 sweetness) or Nawab Puri (10/10)
  • **If you love aroma**: Anwar Ratol — nothing else comes close
  • **If you love tangy-sweet**: Langra is your mango
  • **If you love silky texture**: White Chaunsa Mosami
  • **If you want the best overall**: White Chaunsa Nawab Puri

Pre-Ordering Tips

The most popular varieties (Anwar Ratol, Nawab Puri) sell out fast. We recommend pre-ordering 2-3 weeks before the expected dispatch date. At MMA Farms, we harvest only when each fruit reaches peak ripeness — never early, never with chemicals.

Why Carbide-Free Matters

Many commercial mango sellers use calcium carbide to artificially ripen mangoes faster. This chemical can leave harmful residues and produces mangoes that look ripe but lack the true depth of flavor that naturally ripened mangoes deliver. At MMA Farms, every mango is 100% carbide-free — we let nature do its work, and you taste the difference in every bite.
