Complete Mango Season Calendar Pakistan 2026

By MMA Farms··10 min read

Pakistan produces over 1.8 million tonnes of mangoes annually, ranking fifth globally. The mango season spans mid-June through mid-September — approximately 14 weeks of the finest stone fruit on earth. At our orchards in Multan, we track every variety down to the week to ensure each fruit ships at peak ripeness.

Pakistan Mango Season at a Glance

The Pakistan mango season runs from approximately June 10 to September 15 each year. The exact dates shift by 5-10 days depending on winter cold hours, spring temperatures, and monsoon timing. In 2026, early indicators suggest a normal-to-slightly-early season start.

Pakistan grows over 250 named mango varieties, but approximately 15 are commercially significant. The six premium varieties we grow at MMA Farms represent the gold standard of Pakistani mangoes.

June: Season Opens

Langra (Mid-June)

Langra is always first to market. Expected 2026 dispatch: June 15. This variety stays green even when fully ripe — a common mistake is waiting for yellow color that never comes. The flavor is tangy-sweet with citrus undertones, making it the most distinctive-tasting mango in Pakistan. Weight: 250-350g. At our Multan orchards, Langra trees receive the earliest morning sun, which accelerates ripening by 3-5 days compared to shaded orchards.

Sindhri (Late June)

Named after the town of Sindhri in Sindh, this is widely considered the sweetest mango in Pakistan. Expected 2026 dispatch: June 20. Sindhri is large (350-500g), golden yellow when ripe, and has virtually zero fiber. The sweetness level is 10/10 with honey-like notes. It is Pakistan's premier export variety.

Anwar Ratol (Late June)

The connoisseur's mango and the most aromatic variety in all of Pakistan. Expected 2026 dispatch: June 22. What Anwar Ratol lacks in size (150-250g), it compensates with the most complex, intense flavor and intoxicating aroma of any variety. When you open a box, the entire room fills with fragrance. Demand consistently exceeds supply.

July: Peak Season — Maximum Variety Overlap

July is the golden month for Pakistani mangoes. Four varieties are available simultaneously, giving buyers the widest selection. At our orchards in Multan, July also brings the pre-monsoon heat that concentrates sugars in the fruit.

White Chaunsa Mosami (Early July)

Multan's most famous contribution to the mango world. Expected 2026 dispatch: July 10. White Chaunsa Mosami has a delicate, refined sweetness with floral notes and a silky, custard-like texture. This is the variety that earned Multan the title "City of Mangoes." Weight: 300-450g. The Mosami (meaning "seasonal") designation distinguishes it from its late-season sibling, Nawab Puri.

12 Number Ratol (Late July)

The premium, larger cousin of Anwar Ratol. Expected 2026 dispatch: July 30. The "12 Number" refers to its top-tier grading — selected for superior size (250-350g), intense flavor, and exceptional quality. If you love Anwar Ratol but want bigger fruit, this is your variety.

August-September: The Grand Finale

White Chaunsa Nawab Puri (August-September)

The last and arguably the greatest mango of the season. Expected 2026 dispatch: August 10. By August, the Pakistani summer heat has concentrated sugars to their absolute maximum. Nawab Puri delivers the richest, most intense sweetness — almost caramel-like in depth. The name means "worthy of a Nawab (nobleman)." Many connoisseurs consider this the single finest mango variety in the world. When Nawab Puri arrives, mango lovers know this is their final opportunity until next year.

Factors That Shift Season Dates

Several factors can advance or delay the season by 1-2 weeks:

  • Winter cold hours: Mango trees need a minimum cold period for proper flowering. Warm winters can delay flowering and shift the entire season later.
  • Spring temperatures: A hot March-April accelerates fruit development. Cool springs delay it.
  • Monsoon timing: Early monsoon rains (before July 15) can damage flowers and reduce the early crop. Late monsoon extends the late-season varieties.
  • Orchard elevation: Higher-elevation orchards in northern Punjab ripen 5-7 days later than lowland Multan orchards.

How Weather Affects Mango Quality

Temperature during fruit development (April-June) directly determines sugar content. The ideal daytime temperature range is 33-40°C with nighttime temperatures dropping below 28°C. Multan averages 42°C in June, producing some of the sweetest mangoes globally because the extreme heat concentrates natural sugars while the 10-15°C day-night differential locks in complex flavor compounds.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does mango season start in Pakistan?

Mango season in Pakistan begins in mid-June, typically around June 10-15, when the first Langra mangoes are harvested in Multan. The earliest commercial shipments reach markets by June 15. Some early-season Sindhri from Sindh may appear a few days earlier in local markets.

When does mango season end in Pakistan?

Mango season in Pakistan ends in mid-to-late September. The final variety is White Chaunsa Nawab Puri, which is harvested through the first or second week of September. By September 20, the commercial season is effectively over for all varieties.

Which Pakistani mango variety comes first?

Langra is always the first major commercial variety, arriving around June 15 in Multan. It is followed closely by Sindhri (June 20) and Anwar Ratol (June 22). Langra's arrival is considered the unofficial start of mango season across Pakistan.

What is the best month to buy Pakistani mangoes?

July is the best month for Pakistani mangoes because the maximum number of varieties are available simultaneously — Sindhri, Anwar Ratol, White Chaunsa Mosami, and 12 Number Ratol all overlap. For the sweetest single variety, late August to early September is peak Nawab Puri season.

How long does mango season last in Pakistan?

The Pakistan mango season lasts approximately 14 weeks, from mid-June through mid-September. This is roughly 90-100 days of commercial availability, though the exact length varies by 1-2 weeks depending on weather, particularly the timing of monsoon rains.

Can I get Pakistani mangoes in October?

No. By October, Pakistan's mango season is completely finished. The last variety (Nawab Puri) ends by mid-September. Any mangoes sold in October are either cold-stored (with diminished quality) or imported from other countries. For year-round mango enjoyment, consider freezing or making mango pulp during peak season.
